Local Conservatives have launched their election pledges ahead of elections to Wychavon District Council on 4th May.
These elections will decide who run local services including bin collections, maintaining parks, set council tax levels and the scale of investment in our communities to make them go from strength to strength.
In the past four years Wychavon District Council has gone from strength to strength under Conservative leadership and we have:
- Frozen council tax for the last 6 years—it currently stands at the 3rd lowest in the country—without any cuts to services
- Invested over £28m in local services including world class sporting facilities
- Supported residents with cost of living support worth almost £7m
- Backed projects to change the lives of our most disadvantaged residents and neighbours
- Reduced the council’s own carbon emissions and enacted our Intelligently Green plan, a leading carbon reduction programme in local government
Since May 2019 we have worked hard to support people during and immediately after the pandemic. We are continuing to do that as living costs soar.
These local elections are about the issues that affect you in your street or in your town or village.
Over the next four years we plan to focus on the issues that matter most to you:
-
Keeping council tax low without cutting services
-
Investing £42m across the district including:
-
Evesham public hall/Riverside redevelopment
-
Investments in quality new housing in Droitwich town centre on the old Baxenden site
-
New community assets as part of our Community Legacy Grant fund
-
A new leisure centre at Droitwich
-
World class sports & leisure facilities
By voting for your local Conservative candidate you are supporting a strong local team to run local services in the interests of local people.
