The Mid-Worcestershire Conservative Association is encouraging local people to put their names forward to become a candidate for next year’s County Council elections.
In a bid to encourage more people to get involved in local politics, Mid Worcestershire Conservatives are keen to open up the selection process to become a Conservative Party candidate in the County Council elections which take place in May 2021.
Chairman of the Mid Worcestershire Conservative Association, Cllr Mark Goodge, said:
“As we begin our selection process to find candidates for next year’s County Council elections, we’re very keen to encourage fresh faces to local politics to put their names forward and to get involved.
“No previous political experience is required, but if you’re passionate about where you live and if you want to help improve the lives of people in Worcestershire, then please do get in touch.”
Anyone wishing to become a candidate must be a British citizen, or qualifying Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of the EU and resident in the UK. A candidate must also be aged 18 years or over, on the electoral register for the council area in which they wish to stand or have lived and worked in the council area for at least the last 12 months.
