PRESS RELEASE FROM MID WORCESTERSHIRE CONSERVATIVES
27th March 2014
HOME SECRETARY, THERESA MAY MP, VISITS BROADWAY
The Right Honourable Theresa May MP, Home Secretary, visited Broadway, Worcestershire on Tuesday 25th March and held a Question & Answer session with local residents at the Lygon Arms Hotel. She was the guest of Nigel Huddleston, the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Mid Worcestershire.
Theresa May said:
“I was delighted to visit Broadway to meet local Conservative activists and to support Nigel Huddleston in his campaign to succeed Sir Peter Luff as the next Member of Parliament for Mid Worcestershire.”
“Peter has been an excellent MP and I’m sorry to see him go, but it is clear that the local residents who came to the open primary in November made a great choice in Nigel Huddleston – and I look forward to seeing him in Parliament next year.”
Nigel Huddleston said:
“I was delighted that Theresa May was able to visit us. We had a fascinating and lively discussion on subjects ranging from Badger culling to immigration and the upcoming Scottish referendum.”
“She charmed and impressed everyone who attended. Theresa May is a star performer and we are fortunate to have someone of her calibre as Home Secretary.”
Councillor Liz Eyre, who chaired the meeting, said:
“It was particularly generous of the Home Secretary to fit time for local people into her already busy schedule. We are all impressed by her command of her brief and her ability to cover a wide range of topics. Local residents also appreciated the opportunity to get to know Nigel, our PPC, even better.”
