Mid Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston joined local activist David Train and pupils from Fladbury First School to support their efforts to highlight the effects of climate change.
Mr Huddleston visited Fladbury First School to raise two flags which are designed to highlight the school’s commitment to tackling the effects of climate change and to keep pressure on the Government to do all that it can to end Britain’s contribution to climate change.
Following the flag raising, Mr Huddleston said: “It is great to see people of all ages in the Fladbury community come together to demonstrate their commitment to tackling the important issue.
I know that the Government is committed to doing all that it can to end our contribution to climate change, including enshrining in law a target to reduce our carbon emissions to net zero by 2050. It is clear from today that this issue transcends political affiliation, age, and postcode, and that we are all determined to do everything we can to curb the effects of climate change.”
Mr Huddleston’s visit to Fladbury Primary School follows his recent meeting with Mid Worcestershire residents at the mass lobby event in London, where constituents joined thousands of people from across the country to lobby their MPs to take action on climate change.
