On Friday 3rd March Nigel Huddleston paid a visit to the Royal Oak Inn in Evesham to congratulate its owners on their success in the annual Pubs in Bloom competition. Run by Enterprise Inns, the Pubs in Bloom competition showcases the best outdoor displays across the pubco’s estate. Of over 300 entries, Evesham’s Royal Oak Inn won £500 in the regional competition and after progressing to the divisional stage, won a further £1,000. The money will be used by publican Alistair Barlow to invest back into the pub.
Commenting on the pub’s win, Nigel said: “I was delighted to learn that Royal Oak has won both the regional and divisional awards in the annual Pubs in Bloom competition. I have visited the pub with friends several times in the past and know how hard the team work both outside and inside to make visiting an enjoyable experience for their customers. Especially in the spring and summer, the blooming flowers at the Royal Oak and indeed other pubs in Evesham really add to the beauty of the environment which the whole community appreciates.”
