Nigel Huddleston MP enjoyed an evening of glitz and glamour last weekend when he attended a recording of “Strictly Come Dancing” in London.
Nigel commented: “It was a great privilege to attend the recording of Strictly with my sister, Linda, as a guest of the BBC. It is a fantastic programme watched by millions of people every week and the format has now spread around the world. We have been debating the BBC a great deal recently in parliament and on the Culture, Media and Sport select committee. I said in parliament last month that Strictly showcased the BBC at its best and after seeing the show live on Saturday I am even more impressed. There is a very special atmosphere between the guests, presenters and the entire crew. The surroundings really are as glittering as they appear on television.
After the recording of the live show we had the chance to mingle with some of the celebrities and professional dancers. We were able to meet contestants Judge Rinder, Danny Mac, Greg Rutherford and Louise Rednapp, and professional dancers Kevin Clifton, Katya Jones, Giovanni Pernice and AJ Pritchard, all of whom were lovely to chat to.
I also got the opportunity to meet Ed Balls for the first time as he left parliament the very day I entered it. He was absolutely charming and while I thoroughly enjoyed watching Ed Balls’ quickstep, I can promise my constituents that I won’t be following him into the Strictly ballroom any time soon!”
