Commenting after his successful re-election as the MP for Mid Worcestershire, Nigel Huddleston said:
I am delighted to have been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Mid Worcestershire with an increased majority. Thank you to everyone who lent me their support. It is humbling to know that so many people put their faith in me when they placed their vote and I will continue to work hard to deserve their trust and will endeavour to act in the interests of all the residents of Mid Worcestershire no matter who they voted for.
I would like to thank the Wychavon election team and all those who helped in polling stations and at the count for running such a safe and efficient election day. I am very grateful to my family, friends and supporters who assisted me during the short but intense election campaign. I would also like to thank my local opponents for the professional and constructive way in which they conducted their own campaigns.
I am, of course, disappointed that nationally the Conservatives did not achieve the healthy majority that many of us had had hoped for, but I am pleased that Theresa May will be forming a government - albeit a ‘minority’ government.
