A former local newspaper reporter has been selected by the Conservative Party to stand as their candidate in Pinvin in May’s local elections.
Joshua Godfrey, who worked on the Evesham & Pershore Observers for two-and-a-half-years, will be working hard to earn the votes of Pinvin residents ahead of elections to Wychavon District on Thursday, May 2nd.
The 24-year-old, who now works for the Member of Parliament for Redditch County, was selected by the Mid Worcestershire Conservative Association last week to be their candidate.
He has lived in Wychavon his entire life and attended Prince Henry’s High School in Evesham.
Josh said: “Being a massive politics nerd, it’ll come as no surprise to my friends and family that I’ve taken the leap into frontline politics. I’m incredibly humbled to have been selected to be the Conservative Candidate for Pinvin.
“I’ve lived in Wychavon my entire life, and despite being young, I’m fully aware of the issues affecting the district.
“If I’m given the opportunity to represent Pinvin on Wychavon District Council I’ll work hard to ensure the right type of housing developments are built in Pinvin, work with partners to tackle rural crime, continue the great work of revitalising our town centres and I’ll ensure social mobility remains high on the list of Wychavon’s priorities - this is something I care passionately about.
“I don’t claim to have all the answers, nor do I claim to be able to solve every issue affecting Pinvin, but I can assure you if you place your faith in me on May 2nd I’ll work hard on your behalf to ensure your voice is heard in the council chamber.”
